The programme aims to develop emerging farmers, farm supervisors, and farm operators on farms and within relevant agricultural enterprises with the required technical knowledge and skills to work in an agricultural or farming setting, and function effectively as part of a production team. A student assessed against this qualification will have the necessary competence to coordinate, implement, and monitor agricultural processes and farming practices as applicable to an animal production or plant production farming entity. The qualification prepares students for entry-level positions in agriculture, or for further studies in the field of agriculture.
